BRAIDING BREADS & TRADITIONS

The transformed Reher Center unveils a new exhibition that celebrates multicultural bread and wisdom. Featuring mouthwatering visuals by food photographer Aaron Rezny, visitors and passersby can learn about distinct breads and the cultures they represent. From Filipino Ensaymada and Guatemalan Pan Dulce to Rondout Rolls and Traditional Challah – there are delectable offerings for all. WHEN: November 11, 1pm-6pm. “JEKYLL & HYDE”

“Jekyll & Hyde” the musical by Steve Cuden, Frank Wildhorn, & Leslie Bricusse is being presented by Kingston’s Coach House Players. Ticket prices are $20, with $18 for seniors 62 and over and $10 for students 18 and under. www.coachhouseplayers.org.  “Jekyll & Hyde” is directed by Tom Tierney and is being  presented through special arrangement with Music Theater International (MTI). HUDSON VALLEY HULLABALOO HOLIDAY MARKET

Hullabaloo offers shoppers the opportunity to purchase unique, high-quality, locally made items in a relaxed, party-like setting. Hullabaloo’s concept brings the traditional craft fair to the next level and supports the local economy and arts and cultural movement by attracting shoppers from all over the Hudson Valley and the Northeast. ADULT NATURE HIKE: TURKEY POINT

This is a moderate hike along the Turkey Point Trail. If interested please meet at the Forsyth Nature Center parking lot at 9:00am. Transportation is provided and free. THE POLAR EXPRESS TRAIN RIDE

This family fun train ride is a re-creation of the classic children’s story on board a real train. Passengers are served hot chocolate and cookies by dancing chefs, enjoy a reading of the book by Chris Van Allsburg, and receive the first gift of Christmas (a silver sleigh bell) after Santa boards the train to greet families at the North Pole. FILM SCREENING: BLACK IS THE COLOR

Join us for a screening of the 2016 documentary by director Jacques Goldstein. BLACK IS THE COLOR highlights key moments in the history of African-American visual art, from Edmonia Lewis’s 1867 sculpture Forever Free, to the work of contemporary artists such as Whitfield Lovell, Kerry James Marshall, Ellen Gallagher, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Both comprehensive and lively, BLACK IS THE COLOR is a much-needed survey of great work by artists whose contributions were neglected by the mainstream art world for far too long. 10TH ANNUAL TURKEY TROT

The Kingston Turkey Trot features a 5K and a 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk, both of which start at Dietz Stadium and end at Forsyth Park where refreshments are served. Rain or shine, registration begins at 8 a.m. Complimentary parking will be available at Dietz Stadium. Register online NOW to reserve your tickets. The first 200 to sign up receive a free t-shirt with each ticket. The first place male and female winners receive $75 gift certificates and 2nd and 3rd place winners take home pies!
