Midtown talking: What Keeps Your Family Strong?

What keeps your family strong? Midtown Lively hit the streets to hear from neighbors and visitors. We appreciate and value what the Midtown community is saying. Here are some of their opinions:

When you say “my family” I’m going to say “the human family”, because that’s my true family. And what keeps it strong is recognizing that we are all one human family. Love, compassion, caring, being more in our heart than in our brain, and setting the ego aside. It’s humbleness, you know?

–Tom “Asher” Hammang

Honestly it’s been a spiritual practice that allwos me to go deeper when I am  out of my heart and it’s harder to communicate, so it’s checking in with the heart.

I would say love, and compassion and willingness to grow.

FOOD!!! That’s what it is actually. We prepare meals togther, we eat together, we take time to eat food. -Youko Yamamoto & Kazuma Oshita

Support. Teamwork. She’s the best support, the best teamworker; they both are. That’s the best thing.

–Erick Landon, Sekitha Williams & son Sa’kwan, who notes “STRENGTH!” as what keeps the family resilient.
