Memorial Day Weekend Plant Sale. The Frederick W. Vanderbilt Garden Association will be hosting the non-profit’s largest annual fundraiser. Organic: The Farmers & Chefs of the Hudson Valley. The work of photographer Francesco Mastalia, who has captured over 100 of the Hudson Valley farmers and the chefs at the forefront of the locavore and organic food movement, is on display. The photographs in this collection were taken using the wet plate collodion process, a technique developed in the mid-19th century that produces a beautifully detailed print. Reel Expressions Youth Film Festival Call for Entries. The Children’s Media Project (CMP) is currently accepting narrative, animated, experimental, music video, public service announcement, and documentary entries under 10 minutes from youth ages 13-19.  Film festival winner will be awarded $500 and exposure through CMP’s other media channels. Hudson Valley Garden Fair. This celebration of gardening includes exhibitions by over 40 garden vendors and organizations, a lecture, demonstrations by local experts, and garden and mansion tours.
