Handwriting on the Wall: Encounters with Cancer. Collections of art, poetry and memoir  curated by Lucy Barbera and organized in collaboration with the Oncology Support Center of the Health Alliance in Kingston, with readings scheduled throughout the month. Catskills Great Outdoors Expo. Information on hiking, paddling, biking and other outdoor recreation activities within the great Forest Preserve, with dozens of exhibitors, presentations on and a sale of outdoor gear, all hosted by the Catskill Center. Stone Ridge Orchard Annual Wassail. An ancient Celtic ritual celebrating the Rondout Valley Growers Association with cider and food and plenty of traditional folk-style dancing to live Balkan and Macedonian music. May 5. 2pm into the late evening. Stone Ridge Orchard, 3012 Route 213, Stone Ridge.
